Art Therapy for World Peace Discussion Group
Saturday, December 7, 2024 • 6 Kislev 5785
1:30 PM - 4:00 PMBear Creek neighborhood of Redmond (exact address furnished upon registration)The outcome of the recent Presidential election has hit us all hard. This was not the result that most Jews were hoping for. If you find the thoughts, "How did this happen?" or, "How will we survive the next four years?" impossible to shake off, don't despair: Jews are resilient. Our history is full attempts to beat us down, but we always survive.
Our Sunday School Director, Deirdre, thought it could be both therapeutic and fun to gather for a casual Shabbat of artistic self-expression...and venting! We can commiserate over crafts and snacks, followed by a Havdalah ceremony to transition us from rest to action, led by our Madrikh, Jeff Treistman.
Event host has requested:
- This event be restricted to the existing SJC community. (If this would be your first event with us, we encourage you to instead join us for Hanukkah!)
- Up-to-date vaccination from COVID-19 (up through autumn 2024) strongly recommended.
- Although this event is open to all ages, mature topics may be discussed.
Accessibility information:
- Fully wheelchair accessible: Both elevators and automatic doors on-site.
- Host owns non-hypoallergenic cats and dogs, so dander will be present. If you intend to bring an animal with you, please note that the apartment community only permits small cats and dogs.
- Plenty of free indoor parking available.
- Space is heated and temperature-controlled.
