The Jewish New Year - a time of contemplation, a time of remembering, a time of self-examination, a time of turning over a new leaf and looking forward, a time of COMMUNITY.
Please join us for an evening of reflection, poetry, and music, as together we usher in the Jewish new year.
This year, Portland Madrikah (ceremonial leader), Mary Raskin, will lead us on our journey to a new beginning, contemplating Jewish and humanistic themes and singing familiar melodies.
Our ceremony will be followed by a nosh of apples, honey, and sweet challah to remind us of the sweetness of the new year and turning over a new leaf.
Childcare will be available.
Full address and directions are provided with confirmation of your RSVP.
At this time of year, we hope you will consider making an additional, fully tax-deductible donation to SJC. We use the funds to support Jewish secular humanistic values in the Seattle area by planning events like this, supporting our Shalom Sunday School, growing our voice as a branch of the larger Jewish community, and providing a community to all of you.
Please note: We will be collecting food for the Jewish Family Service's annual food drive. Click here to learn more about the foods and items needed.
