We will be watching "The Frisco Kid" in memory of Gene Wilder. In honor of Gene Wilder, and his wonderful career, we will meet for a Yahrtzeit* viewing of "The Frisco Kid".
It is a classic movie exploring the liminal space where Jewish traditions meets the wider world. It is both a serious Western and an immigrant story, full of the drama of the Gold Rush as seen through the unique lens of a Jewish protagonist. The movie is a comedy that moves you with heart and great character depth.
When: Saturday, August 26
Time: 6pm doors open for schmoozing and noshing (bring-your-own snacks and beverages), 7pm movie start (length: 2h2m)
Where: University District (exact location provided with RSVP confirmation)
Note: Space is limited to 30 people. RSVP is required on a first-come first-served basis.
Price: $7/adult (age 13+) & $5/child (age 5+)
In support of our venue we will be sharing the entry fee from each ticket. While this event is not open to the general public members of SJC may certainly bring friends and family.
