Sukkot Potluck

Saturday, October 19, 2024 17 Tishrei 5785

11:00 AM - 12:30 PMHaller Lake neighborhood of Seattle (exact location disclosed upon registration)

After five (very long) years, Sukkot returns to the SJC programming roster, stronger than ever! Come join the Circle in the sukkah for food, crafts and community!!

Join us at a local public park for an unforgettable secular humanistic Sukkot celebration to ring in the fall, featuring sukkah decorating (with crafts handmade by our talented Mitzvah Secular Sunday School students), a secular humanistic lulav and etrog ritual, and of course, food! Madrikh Jeff Treistman will be leading the service and sharing the history of Sukkot.

As Sukkot at its core is a harvest festival in the vein of Thanksgiving, attendees are encouraged to bring food and/or non-alcoholic refreshments to share. Ingredients cards must be filled out for each dish, to accommodate those with dietary restrictions. New! SJC Ingredients Card (fillable version)

FAQ: What distinguishes a traditional Sukkot celebration from a secular humanist one?
