SJC Purim Game Social

Sunday, March 16, 2025 16 Adar 5785

2:00 PM - 4:30 PMPhinney Ridge neighborhood of North Seattle (exact location disclosed upon registration)

After several years of sponsoring the J's annual Purim Fest (which is still happening...grab your tickets!), we're proud to announce our first in-person Purim event since the pandemic.

After a brief history of the holiday and recounting of the classic myth by our Madrikh, Jeff Treistman, we'll break hamantaschen over some spirited board games and kids games, including a grogger painting station and Purim Puppetshow activity, led by our Sunday School Director, Deirdre O'Dwyer. Family-friendly costumes are encouraged!

  • BYOG - Bring Your Own Games! Have a favorite or underappreciated game you want to play with everyone? Bring it along! Fast, easy to start/easy to learn, family-friendly games are most encouraged, but more focused, mature games are also welcome. (But let's keep it tasteful!)

FAQ: What distinguishes a traditional Purim celebration from a secular humanist one?

Accessibility Information:

  • Venue is fully wheelchair accessible, however all doors are manual, not automatic.
  • Venue has heating, but not cooling. If cooling is required (we don't anticipate this in March), fans are available on request.
  • Venue is fully-booked on the day of our event (so it is expected to have heavy foot-traffic), and there are no sensory safe spaces on-site, so if you need respite from the people or noise, you'll need to step outside. If you anticipate this, bring a coat with you!
  • Outside food and non-alcoholic drink are permitted, and there are public water fountains on-site.
  • Trained service animals, as always, are permitted, but no pets.
  • All bathrooms on-site are gender-neutral.
  • Venue has its own free multi-level parking lot on-site, with the ADA-reserved spaces located in the upper lot.
  • Venue is accessible via public transit route 5, and to a lesser extent, RapidRide E Line, if you're willing and able to walk about 4-5 blocks to/from the stop.
